Twins win behind Van Boeyen’s gem

The Lewis-Clark Twins extended their season with a 3-1 victory over Alaska at the American Legion’s Northwest Regional Tournament Thursday morning in Missoula.

Kyle Van Boeyen went 7 innings on the mound, allowing one run on five hits with two strikeouts.  Nate Savolainen pitched the final two innings of one hit ball to earn the save.

Offensively, A.J. Davis had two hits and drove in a run and Jaden Phillips also tallied two hits in the win.

The Twins advance to play another elimination game Friday afternoon against the loser of Thursday’s game between Wyoming and Hawaii.  Friday’s game time is set for 3pm Pacific from Missoula.

The Twins need to win four more games to advance to next week’s American Legion World Series in Shelby, North Carolina.  (KOZE Sports)
