Thomas sentenced to 24 years to life in prison

The former Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Deputy twice convicted of killing his ex-wife six ago has been sentenced to 24 years to life in prison.

2nd District Court Judge Gregory FitzMaurice handed down the sentence to Joseph Thomas Thursday.

Thomas, whose second trial ended last month, was convicted of killing Beth Irby-Thomas at her Lewiston home in 2011.

Joseph Thomas was given credit for six years served and could be eligible for parole in 2035.  (Lewiston Tribune)
