A valley firefighter was treated for burns to a hand following a fire on 24th Avenue in Clarkston Tuesday night.

Asotin County Fire District 1 Chief Noel Hardin says the blaze, which was reported after 9 p.m., is presumed to have been started by fireworks but an official cause has not been determined.

Firefighters found a wall of juniper bushes burning adjacent to a manufactured home at 1031 24th Ave. when they arrived on scene.  The fire reportedly spread to the home’s deck but was quickly extinguished with minimal damage to the structure.

The injured firefighter was transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston for treatment.  No other injuries were reported.  (Lewiston Tribune)
