The Lewiston man convicted twice of killing his ex-wife six years ago will be sentenced next month.
A jury last week found Joseph Thomas guilty of first-degree murder in the 2011 strangulation death of Beth Irby-Thomas at her Lewiston residence. A similar conviction in the original trial was overturned by the Idaho Supreme Court on appeal, and the case was remanded back to the lower court.
While prosecutors have yet to decide on a recommended sentence, the death penalty is not an option, and Thomas faces a maximum of life in prison when he is sentenced July 6. (LMT)
