Lewiston residents on city water told not to irrigate after pumps fail

Lewiston residents on city water are being advised to not irrigate until further notice due to mechanical issues at the city’s water plant.

Due to the loss of two treatment process pumps at the plant, the city is unable to supply water from the facility.  Currently the city’s well system is supplying all water to Lewiston residents, and due to the high demand, the city requests any irrigation to be curtailed until further notice.

Water quality is not affected and the water is safe to drink.

The curtailment does not affect customers in the Lewiston Orchards Irrigation District.  For more information, contact Lewiston Public Works at (208) 746-1316 or by email at publicworks@cityoflewiston.org.
