Authorities have released the name of the woman who was shot and killed in Orofino Monday night.
According to the Orofino Police Department 23-year-old Samantha Fignani of Orofino has been identified as the victim in the shooting.
Orofino Police along with the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office and an ambulance responded to a report of shots fired at around 7:25pm Monday night. Fignani was found with a gunshot wound and was transported to the hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
Orofino Police obtained a search warrant for the residence and are treating the case as a homicide.
Results of an autopsy are not yet available and no suspects have been arrested.
