Field set for 2017 NAIA World Series

The field is set for the 2017 Avista NAIA World Series following the completion of the nine opening round tournaments.

The Master’s University of California will make it’s fourth series appearance after winning the Lawrenceville, Georgia opening round tournament.

Oklahoma Wesleyan won the Bartlesville, Oklahoma opening round tournament and will be making its second series appearance.

The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma won the Bellevue, Nebraska opening round tournament and is making its second appearance after qualifying last year.

William Carey University of Mississippi will be making its third world series appearance and first since 1978 after claiming the Hattiesburg, Mississippi opening round tournament.

Missouri Baptist University has qualified for its second series after winning the Hutchinson, Kansas opening round tournament.

Hope International University of California qualified for its first-ever NAIA World Series after winning the Lima, Ohio opening round tournament.

Faulkner of Alabama qualified for the series by winning the Montgomery, Alabama opening round tournament and will be making its sixth appearance overall and fourth consecutive.

Oklahoma City has qualified for its 15thh world series after winning the Oklahoma City opening round tournament.

And Keiser University of Florida qualified for its first-ever series after winning the opening round tournament in Kingsport, Tennessee.

Those nine teams join host Lewis-Clark State in the 10 team, double-elimination tournament that begins Friday, May 26th at Harris Field inside Ed Cheff Stadium in Lewiston.  (KOZE Sports)
