Teams begin to qualify for NAIA World Series

So far five teams have qualified for the Avista NAIA World Series.  The Master’s University of California, Hope International University of, California, Oklahoma City University, Missouri Baptist University and Faulkner University of Alabama won their respective opening round tournaments this week.

The Master’s, who also qualified for last year’s series, won the Lawrenceville, Georgia opening round tournament.  Hope International, who is making its series debut, won the Lima, Ohio opening round tournament.  Oklahoma City won the Oklahoma City opening round tournament.  Missouri Baptist won the opening round tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas.  And last year’s national runner-up, Faulkner won the Montgomery, Alabama opening round tournament

Four spots remain to be claimed over the next day or two.

The nine opening round champions join host Lewis-Clark State in the Avista NAIA World Series beginning Friday, May 26th at Harris Field inside Ed Cheff Stadium.  (KOZE Sports)
