A 47-year-old Bovill woman was killed in a single-vehicle accident near Deary Saturday.
Christine Winter was driving a 2004 Ford Escape westbound on Idaho State Highway 8 near Deary just after 3pm when she encountered a patch of hail, crossed the center lane, hit loose dirt, flipped and struck a tree.
Winter was transported to Gritman Medical Center in Moscow, where she was pronounced dead. A passenger in the vehicle, 46-year-old Kristine Brower of Moscow, was treated for her injuries at Gritman and released.
Authorities say both women were trapped in the vehicle suspended by their seatbelts. Emergency crews had to right the vehicle and cut the seatbelts to free them from the car.
