An elderly couple from California died in a small airplane crash Sunday morning northeast of Kooskia.
Investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board were on scene at Harris Ridge Monday.
Authorities say Carl and Joelle Lindros, both 83, were believed to be traveling from Montana to Sacramento in a Lancair IV aircraft when it crashed for unknown reasons just after 10:30 AM Sunday.
The aircraft apparently caught fire and was destroyed on impact. (Lewiston Tribune)
