Lewiston Airport officials consider Skywest, Horizon options

The Lewiston-Nez Perce County Regional Airport is targeting Skywest Airlines in its attempt to restore flights to Seattle.

Skywest currently offers service from Lewiston to Salt Lake City.

The Airport Authority Board says the first step is to hire a consultant firm to help in the effort.

Officials are also looking at an option that would make Lewiston a backup airport for Horizon flights unable to land at the Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport. Horizon terminated its Lewiston connection about a year ago, which ended flights from the LC Valley to Seattle.

The Lewiston board will revisit the issue again at a meeting in upcoming weeks, reviewing its options for consultants. The board says whatever consultant they end up choosing would begin work immediately.  (Lewiston Tribune)
