Voters in five north-central Idaho school districts passed levies on Tuesday.

The one-year levies help maintain current levels of programs, staffing and extracurricular activities, as well as maintenance and operations of schools. The measures needed a simple majority to pass.

76 percent of patrons in the Cottonwood School District backed a $325,000 levy, while the Nezperce School District saw its $445,000 measure pass with 80 percent approval. An $880,000 levy for the Whitepine School District covering Deary and Bovill passed with 65 percent of the vote, and 78 percent of voters in the Riggins-based Salmon River School District OK’d a $525,000 levy. About 53 percent of voters voted ‘yes’ for a $3 million levy for the Mountain View School District, covering Grangeville, Kooskia, and Elk City. (Lewiston Tribune)
