A Juliaetta man accused of killing another man with a baseball bat has pleaded not guilty to felony voluntary manslaughter.
26-year-old Jared Mendez entered similar pleas to felony charges of destruction, alteration, or concealment of evidence in Latah County’s 2nd District Court. Authorities say Mendez fatally hit 48-year-old Christopher Vessells in the side of the head with the bat last month at Vessells’ home in Juliaetta.
A status hearing on the case is scheduled for June 17th. (Lewiston Tribune)
