Teams begin qualifying for NAIA World Series

Seven teams have qualified for next week’s NAIA World Series. 

So far, St. Thomas of Florida, Georgia Gwinnett, defending National Champion Southeastern of Florida, Indiana Tech, Faulkner of Alabama, Bellevue of Nebraska, and Science and Arts of Oklahoma have punched their tickets back to Lewiston. 

Two more teams are expected to qualify Thursday. 

In the Henderson, Tennessee opening round tournament championship game – Oklahoma Wesleyan faces Freed-Hardeman of Tennessee; while the Kingsport, Tennessee opening round tournament features a winner-take-all final between first time World Series hopeful Webber International of Florida and perennial power Tennessee Wesleyan. 

The nine opening round champions join host Lewis-Clark State for the Avista NAIA World Series at Harris Field beginning next Friday, May 24th.  (KOZE Sports)
