The 2019 Northern Pikeminnow Sport Reward Fishery is now open in the Columbia and Snake rivers. The program helping young salmon and steelhead pays registered anglers 5 dollars to 8 dollars for each pikeminnow that is at least nine inches long. The more fish an angler catches, the more each is worth, and there are up to one thousand specially tagged fish worth 500 dollars apiece. Last year the top fisherman in the program earned more than 71-thousand dollars in just five months of fishing. The fishery runs through September 30th.
