One of three people implicated in last year’s stabbing death of a Clarkston woman has pleaded guilty to accessory to murder.
44-year-old Gabriel Mattingly also pleaded guilty to failure to notify authorities of a death after initially being charged with first-degree murder in the death of 32-year-old Sarah Warden, whose body was found last July by Mud Springs Pond near Winchester.
An autopsy determined Warden’s body may have have been left there up to a month before.
Authorities believe Warden was killed as Mattingly conspired with Cole Marcell and Amanda Jones to rob Warden of an $800 Social Security check.
Under a plea agreement, Mattingly is expected to serve five to 15 years in prison when he is sentenced on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Jones has a change-of-plea hearing scheduled for next week, and a preliminary hearing for Marcell is set for April 19th. (Lewiston Tribune)
