Idaho’s unemployment rate held steady in December at 2.6 percent.
The state’s labor force – the total number of people age 16 years or older working or looking for work – increased slightly by two tenths of a percent from November, to just over 856,000, while the number of people working also climbed.
Total non-farm jobs rose three tenths of a percent. Natural resources, construction, and education and health services sectors met seasonal expectations with no over-the-month change.
Manufacturing was below seasonal expectations with a 1 percent decline, while the remaining seven sectors had a combined increase of 3,000 jobs.
The unemployment rate for Nez Perce County was 2.8 percent; Latah County 2.6 percent; Lewis County 5.6 percent; Idaho County 4.5 percent; and Clearwater County 5.4 percent. (Idaho Department of Labor)
