The mayor of Lapwai was killed in a collision near the Clearwater River Casino Monday afternoon.
Idaho State Police say 67-year-old Ruth McConville was attempting to make a left hand turn from the south entrance of the Clearwater River Casino to go southbound onto US Highway 95 at about 12:30pm. McConville failed to yield to a 1998 Toyota Sienna van driven by 28-year-old Ivan Trautman of Troy and was struck on the drivers side of her vehicle.
McConville died as a result of her injuries at St Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston.
Trautman’s 3 passengers, including one adult and two juveniles were treated at the scene. (Idaho State Police)
