The Lewiston School District’s new career and technical education center could serve other Idaho high schools.

The Lewiston School Board on Monday approved a memorandum of understanding with the Idaho Division of Career and Technical Education to make the new center a regional facility, depending on the logistics of hosting students from area schools. Among the ideas is transporting students on a buds that runs through Potlatch, Moscow, and Genesee, as well as online components.

Regionalizing the center would need approval from Idaho education officials, which the district expects to happen following board approval.

The new career and technical education center is set to open in 2020, next to the district’s new high school in the Lewiston Orchards. (Lewiston Tribune)
