Former Washington State University quarterback Jason Gesser has resigned from the school’s athletic department amid allegations of sexual misconduct levied against him by a former WSU volleyball player.
Gesser, who had been placed on home assignment by university officials Monday, issued a statement to the Seattle Times Tuesday announcing his departure as assistant director of athletics with the Cougar Athletic Fund.
The former volleyball player filed an official complaint against Gesser on Monday with the university’s Office for Equal Opportunity.
Last week Washington State University officials investigated allegations of sexual harassment against Gesser and found no violations of school policy.
Gesser led the Cougar football team to the 2003 Rose Bowl. He returned to work at WSU in 2013. (Lewiston Tribune)
