Inland Cellular is currently experiencing a voice network outage due to a major commercial power disruption.

The outage caused surges and spikes, which destroyed the Lewiston company’s battery backups and generators, damaging essential hardware and information.

Inland is in the process of restoring the information needed to run its voice network, and is working with business partners to set up alternative routes for voice traffic until the switch is fully functional. Currently, equipment is being flown via three private jets from various parts of the country to restore Inland’s service, with hopes of restoring by Monday evening.

Backup protocol for 4G and LTE services functioned properly and those services are restored. Email communications and data services are functional. (Inland Cellular)
