A Grangeville man was killed in a motorcycle accident Friday along U.S. Highway 12 near the Reubens – Gifford Road.
Idaho State Police say 65-year-old Mario Garateix was westbound on US Highway 12 at milepost 19 on his black 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he struck the guardrail while attempting to negotiate a curve at 11:30 Friday morning. Garateix, who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected from the motorcycle and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The highway was blocked for approximately 1.5 hours. (Idaho State Police)
