Lewiston man arrested after breaking into apartment, pointing gun at resident

A 34-year-old Lewiston man is in custody after allegedly breaking into an apartment and brandishing a handgun Monday morning.

According to the Lewiston Police Department, officers responded to a call around 7:30 AM about a man wielding a handgun near Pioneer Park. Police found the man, identified as Ryan Williams, had entered a person’s apartment in the 600 block of 3rd Avenue and the person told officers the suspect pointed a pistol in his direction.

Williams was eventually confronted by officers and would not comply with commands. He was tased and safely taken into custody. The handgun was recovered at the scene and determined to be a CO2 operated soft air gun.

Williams faces charges of burglary, aggravated assault, and resisting arrest. (LPD)
