Idaho Ed Board names Pemberton as LCSC president; Satterlee picked at ISU

The Idaho State Board of Education has named Cynthia Pemberton as the next president of Lewis-Clark State College.

The board held a special meeting Thursday afternoon to hire and approve contracts for the new presidents of both LCSC and Idaho State University.

Pemberton, the Vice President for Academic Affairs at Colorado Mesa University, was among three finalists the board recently interviewed for the LCSC position. The other two were Kristin Poppo, the Provost at Alfred State College in New York; and Brock Tessman, Dean of Davidson Honors College at the University of Montana.

Pemberton will take over from Tony Fernandez, retires in June.

Meanwhile, the board selected Kevin Satterlee as the new ISU president.

Satterlee, currently the Chief Operating Officer, Vice Prtesident, and Special Counsel at Boise State University, will replace the retiring Arthur Vailas. (ISBE)
