The Lewiston-Nez Perce County Regional Airport Authority Board is down to two members, leaving the normally five-member board without a quorum and unable to conduct business.

Chairman Emmett McCormick has resigned, becoming the third member to leave the board over the past month.

The board is comprised of two appointees from the city of Lewiston, another two from Nez Perce County and a fifth who is selected by the other four.

Two of the vacancies are the city’s – McCormick’s position and a seat held by Jim Finley before he resigned January 26th. Pat Nuxoll, who held the slot chosen by other board members, resigned ten days prior.

The city expects to decide how it will pick its appointee within about a week.

The board’s responsibilities include hiring employees, leasing airport property, setting fees, and entering into contracts for services like construction or engineering. (Lewiston Tribune)
