arrest-made

A Washington man has been arrested in Clarkston for allegedly returning stolen items to regional Walmart stores in exchange for refunds.

42-year-old Stephen Dickerson is accused of fraudulently returning stolen items at stores in Spokane, Pullman, and Clarkston, allegedly making off with $3,000.

Dickerson allegedly performed the same scheme at each store by taking receipts from help desks, scanning them onto his phone, tracking down the item in the store, and taking it to the help desk to return in exchange for cash.

Dickerson was booked on felony charges of second-degree organized retail theft, second-degree possession of stolen property, and criminal conspiracy.  He is scheduled to appear in Asotin County Superior Court January 8th. (Lewiston Tribune)
