Clarkston school bond won’t be on February ballot

The Clarkston School District’s recently failed construction bond will not go before voters again in February.

School board members on Monday declined to act on a motion by Board President Scott Dolezal to put the bond back on the ballot during the next election, when the district also seeks renewal of its regular four-year levy.  The $60 million bond for rebuilding much of Clarkston High School and making improvements to other schools won 51 percent approval in November, but school construction bonds in Washington require a 60 percent supermajority to pass.

The district has the option of running the bond again in April, August or November.  (Lewiston Tribune)
