Idaho DMV computer services glitch forces most county offices to close

itd

Due to problems with Idaho’s Division of Motor Vehicle computer system, the Idaho Transportation Department has closed driver’s licensing offices across the state with the exception of Ada and Canyon counties.

When business opened Tuesday morning, all systems were functioning.  As more county DMV offices came on line across the state and increased the number of transactions, the system slowed down dramatically.  ITD technicians have not yet determined the root cause of the system errors, and there is no estimate of when the offices will be reopened.

Registration and titling services are still open across Idaho.  (ITD)
