The Idaho State Board of Education will begin the search next month for the next President of Lewis-Clark State College.

The new President will succeed current Lewis-Clark State President Tony Fernandez, who will retire in June.

Dr. J. Anthony Fernandez

The State Board will use the Association of Governing Boards to assist with the search process.  AGB is a membership organization representing 1,300 governing boards of higher education institutions and related foundations.  College and university leadership search consulting is a service provided by the organization.

In addition to support from AGB, the State Board will rely on a local search committee to make a recommendation of final candidates, from which the State Board will make its selection.

State Board member Don Soltman will chair the search committee and be joined by fellow State Board member Debbie Critchfield.  The search committee membership is comprised of representatives of local stakeholder groups, including Lewis-Clark State College faculty, staff, students, alumni, the Lewis-Clark State College Foundation, and the community.

A final selection is scheduled for April.  (Idaho State Board of Education)
