Frontier Coaches Poll: LC women picked first; Tackett player of the year/Men picked 3rd

The Lewis-Clark State women’s basketball team has been picked as the pre-season favorite to repeat as Frontier Conference champions and senior post Brittany Tackett was tabbed as the pre-season player of the year, according to the league’s coaches. 

Five players return for the Warrior women, who finished last season as the NAIA national runner-up.

Tackett led the nation in field goal percentage and was the second-leading scorer on the team.

Montana Western and Montana State-Northern tied for second, followed by Carroll College, Rocky Mountain, Providence and Montana Tech.

The LC women open their season Friday, October 27th in Lancaster, California against Antelope Valley.

 

Meanwhile, the Lewis-Clark State men have been picked to finish 3rd by the league’s coaches.

The men return six players from last season’s team that qualified for the NAIA national tournament.

Montana Western is the pre-season favorite, followed by Carroll College, LC, Montana State – Northern, Providence and Montana Tech.

The Warrior men open their season at home Saturday, October 21st when they host Northwest Indian College.  (Frontier Conference,KOZE Sports)
