AAA promoting safe school zones as student return to class

back-to-school

The American Automobile Association and the Idaho Transportation Department’s Office of Highway Safety are reminding motorists to drive carefully in school zones as children return to classes this fall.

Matthew Conde with the Idaho Chapter of AAA says while pedestrian fatalities overall are down statewide – more can be done to ensure safety.

Conde says motorists in school zones can make a difference by staying vigilant.

Parents of school-age children can also help by making sure kids understand the rules of the road, and provide them with light-colored clothing and reflective gear to make them more visible to drivers.  (KOZE News)
