A University of Idaho educator died Sunday after being struck by lightning while climbing the Matterhorn in the Swiss Alps.

41-year-old Samantha Ramsay was an assistant professor of nutrition at the Margaret Ritchie School of Family and Consumer Sciences.

It’s the second deadly tragedy inside a year for the Ramsay family.  Ramsay’s husband, former professional baseball player Rob Ramsay, died August 4th of last year after a yearslong battle with brain cancer.  (Lewiston Tribune)
