Hot, dry weather conditions have led to the ban of most campfires in Asotin County.
Exceptions include fires within designated fire pits at Chief Timothy Park, as well as approved propane and charcoal barbecues in unincorporated areas. Beach fires continue to be against the law on Snake River Road, and initial violators face a $200 fine.
