A far-right leaning North Idaho lawmaker whose insulting comments about female colleagues led to her removal from the three House committees last month has been reinstated to those panels.

House Speaker Scott Bedke had removed Representative Heather Scott of Blanchard from her committee assignments on January 12th for saying that female lawmakers only advance in leadership through sexual favors.

Scott has made rounds of apologies, both public and in meetings with colleagues.

On the House floor this week, the clerk read revised committee assignments that restored Scott to Commerce, Environment, and State Affairs committees.

Bedke said in a statement that Scott has acknowledged that what she said and did on numerous occasions was wrong.

Bedke added that Scott seems to have taken ownership and responsibility for her comments.  (Idaho Statesman)
